Big changes came to the NFL this offseason as the league decided to make some adjustments to the kickoff rules.
Among the biggest changes to the kickoff is that both teams, aside from the kicker and the opposing returner, must line up five yards off of each other on the return team’s side of the field.
Only the kicker and returner can move while the ball is in the air.
It will be an unusual change for a lot of people.
Of course, one of the greatest coaches of all time in Andy Reid is not totally freaking out about it.
“It’s different. I’m not afraid of changes, never really have been…It looks like it’s going to be exciting, I’m fired up to see how it looks,” the Super Bowl-winning head coach told the Kansas City media Monday.

Reid has been coaching football for over four decades, and he’s been coaching in the NFL for the last 30+ years.
He has seen a lot, so it makes a lot of sense that he has a very open mind about it.
If any team is going to have success with these new rules, it is going to be the Kansas City Chiefs.
Look for teams to get super creative with how they return kicks.
Returners aren’t just going to run up into the pile and call it a day.
They will try to find an opening, and that will be up to the special teams coordinators and blockers to try and execute.
The kickoff team will look to clog up lanes without getting a running start.
It will be very interesting.
