Arizona Five-Star SF Target Will Riley Commits to Illinois

On Sunday, Tommy Lloyd and the Arizona Wildcats were eliminated from the Will Riley sweepstakes, with the five-star small forward officially committing to Illinois.

Riley, a 6-foot-8 forward from Pennsylvania, chose the Illini over Arizona, Alabama, Kentucky, and the NBL.

Coming out of The Phelps School in the Class of 2025, Riley is listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s ninth-ranked player. He also checks in as the second-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in the state of Pennsylvania.

With Riley committing to Illinois, Brad Underwood now holds the nation’s No. 1 ranked group in the Class of 2025. Riley joins four-star point guard Jeremiah Fears in heading to Champaign.

Rumors surrounding Riley have focused on his possible reclassification to the Class of 2024, with most college basketball insiders expecting him to join Illinois for the upcoming season.

Riley was the primary target for Tommy Llyod and the Wildcats’ 2025 class, but fortunately for the team, they should have more opportunities ahead with other impressive prospects.
