Arkansas snapped a five-game SEC losing streak Wednesday, beating Georgia to earn its first conference win of the John Calipari era. But it wasn’t enough to send the Bulldogs home with a loss — Arkansas handed their bettors a painful L too.
After trailing by as much as 15, the Razorbacks came back to tie the game with 1.8 second left and Adou Thiero at the free throw line. This is when bettors on both sides started crossing their fingers, because the spread closed between -1 and -2.5 in favor of Arkansas.
Thiero made the first free throw to put some bettors in line for a push, but Georgia bettors between +1.5 and +2.5 still had a chance if he missed the second — which is exactly what happened. But before people could even let out a scream of excitement, Thiero gathered his own rebound and put it back at the buzzer to crush them all.

That was a devastating bad beat. He didn’t need to go back up with that shot, but he did it anyway. Respect.
