Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears have officially scheduled a home-and-home series against the SMU Mustangs for the 2025 and 2026 college football seasons.
The first game of the series will kick off in Dallas during the 2025 season, followed by Waco in 2026.
According to the official release, Baylor will take on SMU on the road on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, followed by SMU hitting the road to Waco the following season on Saturday, September 19th, 2026. With the matchup officially being set between Power 4 opponents in both 2025 and 2026, Baylor will take on a total of 11 different Power 4 teams.
SMU will officially become a member of the ACC on Monday, July 1st, alongside the University of California, Berkeley, and Stanford University, after being approved by the ACC Board of Directors on September 1st, 2023.
SMU elected to depart from the AAC after winning the league in 2023 with an overall record of 11-3 and a perfect 9-0 record in league play. Stanford and Cal were two of the final four remaining members of the Pac-12 Conference alongside Oregon State and Washington State, but elected to join the ACC in hopes of remaining relevant in the Power 4.
With the games officially scheduled, Baylor football now has just one remaining non-conference game to fill in 2025 and 2026.
