Berrettini Stays Red Hot; Reaches Kitzbuhel Final
Former Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini reached his fourth final of the season on Friday in Kitzbuhel, Austria, defeating Yannick Hanfmann 6-4, 6-4.
In a straight forward contest that lasted 90 minutes, Berrettini slammed 11 aces, won 89 percent of his first serve points and broke the serve of his German opponent on two occasions.
Berrettini, who won the tournament in Gstaad, Switzerland last week, currently stands at 20-5 on the year. The 28-year-old is also up to No. 46 in the world.
He will face Hugo Gaston in Saturday’s final.
Gaston advanced to the championship match after Facundo Diaz Acosta was forced to retire trailing 6-1, 2-0. The Frenchman will be playing in his second career final on Saturday. Gaston is currently ranked No. 60 in the world.

Top seed Andrey Rublev was ousted in the semifinals of the Croatia Open on Friday, losing to No. 4 seed Francisco Cerundolo 7-6(4), 6-4.
In a match that lasted one hour and 53 minutes, Cerundolo hit four aces, saved five of six break points and hit 25 total winners.
The 25-year-old will next face either No. 2 seed Lorenzo Musetti or up-and-comer Jakub Mensik.
Cerundolo will be looking to win his third career title on Saturday.
