Recently, seven-time Super Bowl champion and arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history, Tom Brady, chose to get roasted by his former teammates and a list of notable comedians on a live Netflix special, which turned out to be hilarious and highly successful.

Although it was no surprise to see a lot of former New England Patriots teammates in attendance, like Randy Moss, Rob Gronkowski, and Julian Edelman, it was surprising to see legendary head coach Bill Belichick make an appearance as well.

With all the tension surrounding Brady, Belichick, and longtime Patriots owner Robert Kraft, few thought the team’s former head coach would show up, especially after recently getting fired and vilified in a documentary about the franchise.

However, Belichick showed up and stole the show with some of the funniest jokes of the night and really won fans over by being humble and the bigger man in the situation.

Now the question has been posed whether Belichick will return to Gillette Stadium where Brady will have his No. 12 jersey retired by the team on Wednesday, and it appears that he will be one of the guests for the highly-anticipated event, according to Chad Graff of The Athletic (via Savage Sports).

It seems that Belichick doesn’t mind being perceived as the villain if it benefits his former players, namely Brady, who helped him win six Super Bowl titles in New England.

It’ll be interesting to see how Belichick will be received by the fans during this ceremony and if they greet him with a warm welcome or a chorus of boos.
