Our racing experts Ross O’Sullivan and Katie Walsh have provided their tips that you could use in a Lucky 15 for Cheltenham day 4.
Ross O’Sullivan
Ross O’Sullivan’s given us his horses to watch to help you create a day 4 Cheltenham Lucky 15 or Yankee bet.
14:00 County Hurdle
Ross’ opening pick to add to your Cheltenham day 4 Lucky 15 comes in the County Hurdle:
“The County Hurdle could easily be a 1-2-3 for the Mullins – both Willie and Emmett. What a strong hand they have got in it. You’d love to have any of them, let alone all of them, so I don’t think they’ll walk away empty handed.
With that said, IRISH PANTHER 14/1 could outrun his price. He ran well last time behind McLaurey and has the experience to cope with the hustle and bustle of this race. He could be a sneaky big priced horse to outrun his odds!”
16:00 Gold Cup
Ross’ Gold Cup betting tip is an each-way pick:
“Friday looks so competitive, but I like the fact they’ve supplemented INOTHEWAYURTHINKIN 6/1 in the Gold Cup. He must have a very solid each-way chance.
He was a huge eyecatcher in the Irish Gold Cup and it looked as if he was heading for the Grand National, which he might do, but it’d not the strongest Gold Cup and he could really be in the mix.”
16:40 Hunters Chase
“It’s great to have another runner with a chance this week after Slurricane’s brilliant effort in finishing fifth in the Fred Winter. RYEHILL 9/1 runs in the Foxhunters and while we know he has to improve to win, he impressed us last time and we hope he impresses us again. He’s still improving, but this race is so competitive.”
17:20 Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle
“RAGLAN ROAD 28/1 will be a massive price in the last, but I liked the way he stayed on last time and he could be improving at the right time in his career for a race of this nature. He’s still unexposed and has the right profile for this race.”
Katie Walsh

13:20 Triumph Hurdle
The first of Katie’s Lucky 15 tips comes in the Triumph Hurdle:
“The Triumph looks wide open this year and one of a few could be superstars in the making, but I’m going to side with HELLO NEIGHBOUR 11/2 for Gavin Cromwell.
The more I look back at his race at the Dublin Racing Festival, the more I am keen on him with how hardy he is. Lulamba might end up being a bit of a superstar, and I do like him, but Hello Neighbour’s experience should give him the edge.”
14:00 County Hurdle
“KARGESE 7/2 has been a talking horse in all of the previews this year and she could be another blot for Willie in a handicap. She’s not far off the best mares in the yard and her mark of 141 could be a gift.”
14:40 Mares’ Chase
“Dinoblue is the one to beat on this year’s form in the Mares Chase, but she’s plenty short enough so I’ll take her on her with last year’s winner, LIMERICK LACE 6/1 . She’s only run twice this year and both times you could argue they wouldn’t have been her ideal conditions, but she’ll get them here and could make it back-to- back wins in this race.”
16:40 Hunters’ Chase
“I obviously would really love to see RYEHILL 9/1 win the Foxhunters for Ross and his brilliant owners. He was good the last day, but these races are so competitive, so it’s more hope than confidence!”
