After being swept decisively in a three-game set by the MLB-leading Philadelphia Phillies, the time for the Los Angeles Dodgers to press the panic button may be getting closer and closer.
Whether injuries or the dog days of summer are to blame, the Dodgers have been playing some of their worst baseball of the season since the calendar hit July. Following a 5-1 loss on Thursday, the Dodgers are just 3-6 during the month and have lost eight of the last 12 games.
But, the reasons behind the slump were on full display against arguably the best team in baseball.
