Miami Heat’s historic big three consisting of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh is still spoken about today as one of the best trios to ever grace the NBA.
They ended up winning two championships and dominated the league for years but Wade admitted that it wasn’t always easy.
Sitting down on “7PM in Brooklyn,” Wade said that he had to put his ego aside in order to let the big three form.
He also said a number of forces didn’t want that version of the team.
“Nobody wanted it. My team didn’t want it, my family didn’t want it. ‘Bron’s team didn’t want it. The game of basketball didn’t want it to happen,” Wade said.

Wade considered himself one of the best players in the league at that time and had a hard time accepting the idea of sharing the spotlight with two others.
As great as James and Bosh are, Wade wasn’t initially sold on the concept.
But he thought long and hard about what he wanted and things became clear.
Wade already had one title under his belt at that time and was eager to get more.
He knew that if he could accept a spot in this big three, amazing things would come to the Heat.
It required a sacrifice on his part but it paid off.
James and Bosh came to Miami and within a couple of seasons, they were the most fearsome trio in the NBA.
All these years later, it’s clear that bringing these three stars together was a brilliant move.
It’s surprising to hear about Wade’s initial resistance but Miami fans are happy he got over it.
