Epson Tour at Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic

At the Wildhorse Resort & Casino in Pendleton, Oregon, the Epson Tour, the second largest women’s golf circuit in the United States, is offering the third edition of the Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic from August 16 to 18, where sisters Angelica and Benedetta Moresco will be on the starting tee.

Epson, schedule

A high-level event is expected due to the presence in the field of nine of the top ten players in the Race For The Card (order of merit) and many others who are behind them, a ranking where, with six tournaments to go in the season, they are jostling to secure one of the first fifteen places (five more than in 2023) that lead, at the end of the year, on the LPGA Tour.

At the moment, the top ten in order are Jessica Porvasnik, Daniela Iacobelli, past winner of the race in 2022, New Zealander Fiona Xu, Lauren Stephenson, Kim Kaufman, China’s Yahui Zhang (the only one absent of the ten on the occasion), Madison Young, Australia’s Cassie Porter, Brianna Chacon and the other Chinese Ruixin Liu.

All aiming to consolidate or improve their position (except for Zhang, who is destined to lose something) just as the others who are from 11th to 15th place, Dana Fall, the Korean Soo Bin Joo, Brooke Matthews, Mariel Galdiano and the South African Kaleigh Telfer, will try to find a more stable one.

In essence, there is no longer any room for lapses, especially because there is also strong competition from athletes who are currently outside the 15, but potentially able to recover, including Savannah Vilaubi, Kathleen Scavo, the Colombian Valery Plata and the Taiwanese Janice Peng and Juliana Hung, all of whom scored in 2024.

Angelica Moresco has cashed in her last three appearances with a 14th place in the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship. Same path for Benedetta Moresco, who then also played two competitions on the LPGA Tour, where she alternates having the double ‘card, with the 19th place in the CPKC Women’s Open. The prize money is 262,500 dollars of which 39,375 are destined for the winner.
