Eugenie Bouchard has great reaction to ATP star’s comment about love for cameras

Eugenie Bouchard had a hilarious reaction to Jack Draper saying he “quite enjoys” being in front of the camera as the Canadian joked she would have been “crucified” for that comment a decade ago.

Bouchard, who turned 30 in February, was considered one of the most talented and promising players in the game when she reached the 2014 French Open semifinal and then the 2014 Wimbledon final. That same year, Bouchard won her first WTA title in Nurnberg and achieved a career-high ranking of No. 5 in the world.

But after back-to-back strong Grand Slam results and finishing as runner-up to Petra Kvitova in the 2014 Wimbledon final, Bouchard’s rise abruptly stopped. Once that happened, the 2014 Wimbledon finalist started receiving major criticism and scrutiny, with many claiming over the years that she was more focused on non-tennis stuff.

Bouchard’s hilarious reaction to Draper’s comment

Draper, 22, won his first ATP title in Stuttgart last week and appeared in Vogue’s photoshoot.

“I quite enjoy being in front of the camera. If I’m looking good, that is,” Draper told Vogue.

Reacting to Draper’s quote, Bouchard wrote: “If I had said this 10 years ago I would have been crucified (laughing emoji).

In recent years, Bouchard hasn’t played much due to injuries and surgeries. Earlier this year, Bouchard even made her pro pickleball debut.

“Look, pickleball is crazy,” Bouchard said after her pickleball debut in January.

“It’s wild for me to just play a completely different sport. I’ve played tennis for 25 years now, and so my brain is like wired for tennis.”

However, Bouchard’s pro tennis career is still not over as just last month she played her first tournament of the year at an ITF event in Zephyrhills. There, the former world No. 5 won her opening two matches before retiring to Kayla Day during their quarterfinal meeting.

Bouchard is currently ranked at No. 491 in the world.
