Georgia Tech executed what it wanted to do offensively — control the clock, maintain possessions through quarterback Haynes King and not turn the ball over.
“You know, sometimes that we were in position, but he did a big job of getting to the edge,” Norvell said on King’s running ability. “We’ve got to do a better job of setting the edge and keeping him contained. But that was definitely an X-factor in this game. And I thought he played at a very high level. Even on the time where he wasn’t necessarily the ball carrier, he still brings a dynamic where you have to, it forces you to account for him.
“And I thought their running back ran hard, we know he’s a good player. It all starts with that quarterback, and I thought he did a really good job being efficient. It was kind of what this game, what it turned into, you know, they were able to extend drives. They were able to keep possession, and they responded well whenever they needed to.”
