Five-Star UCF Basketball Commit Moustapha Thiam Reclassifies to 2024 Class

Five-star UCF commit Moustapha Thiam reclassed to the Class of 2024 and will join the Knights this summer ahead of the 2024-25 season, per On3’s Jamie Shaw.

Thiam becomes the No. 30 overall prospect in this year’s class after being ranked the No. 1 center in 2025.

On3 now ranks the 7-foot-2 big man as the No. 7 ranked center.

This past spring, Thiam played his AAU ball with Austin Rivers SE Elite and averaged 15.2 points and 7.2 steals per game, according to ESPN. He is an elite rim protector, as he swatted 2.1 shots per game as well.

Head Coach Johnny Dawkins has brought in several other players this offseason, like Mikey Williams and JJ Taylor (Memphis), Jordan Ivy-Curry (UTSA), Keyshawn Hall (George Mason), and Benny Williams (Syracuse).

Central Florida just completed its first season competing in the Big 12 Conference, placing 12th with a 17-16 record (7-11 in conference play).

Guards Jaylin Sellers (15.9 PPG) and Darius Johnson (15.2 PPG) return for the Knights after leading the team in scoring last season.

Despite finishing only one game above .500, the squad picked up statement victories against No. 3 Kansas and No. 23 Texas Tech.
