Football recruits in California, Georgia lead national scouting notes as 2024 season kicks off

In the past, the 247Sports national scouting and recruiting teams showcased weekly Top247 standouts following each weekend’s high school football action across the country. However, last season, 247Sports began highlighting noteworthy scouting exposures nationwide to showcase the depth and expertise of our national team.

While these features can occasionally cover 50-plus prospects, this will undoubtedly be the lightest package of notes on the season as Week 0 only saw prospects from Georgia, Utah, Nevada and some California-Hawaii matchups get their season underway.

Similar to last season, we expect a Monday publish date for each of these loaded notes packages. We will provide a lengthy list of prospects we watched in person, on TV broadcasts, and via the wonderful modern technological tool of online streams (this does not include the countless hours of tape-watching). For further organizational sake, we will list players by region or state. Examples: Midwest, East (think DMV to the Northeast), South, Florida, Texas, California or West Coast, etcetera.

Today’s edition features blurbs on 21 different players across three different classes and includes commitments for the following schools: Arkansas, Chattanooga, Florida State, Georgia, Oregon, USC and Virginia. About half the players featured are Top247 four-stars, with Kingsland (Ga.) Camden County’s Elyiss Williams leading us off as the only five-star prospect.
