A quarterback with starting experience in both the Big Ten and ACC is on the verge of making the move to the Big 12.
The expectation is that ex-Nebraska and Georgia Tech QB Jeff Sims is going to end up at Arizona State, sources tell 247Sports’ Chris Karpman and Matt Zenitz.
Sims, who entered the transfer portal in December, opened last season as Nebraska’s starting quarterback after spending three years and accounting for 41 total touchdowns at Georgia Tech.
The former four-star recruit would add to an Arizona State quarterback room that recently lost ex-top recruit Jaden Rashada and currently includes Michigan State transfer Sam Leavitt and veteran Trenton Bourguet.
The Sun Devils are entering their second season with Kenny Dillingham as their head coach.
