Chris Klieman and the Kansas State Wildcats continued their successful run in the transfer portal this offseason with the commitment of former Rice defensive back Jordan Dunbar.
Dunbar, a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back from New York, earned All-Conference USA honors in 2022 after being named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team selection in 2021.
Â
Dunbar redshirted in 2023 and did not record any stats, but the New York native posted some impressive numbers in the two seasons prior. In two seasons with the Owls, Rice recorded 54 total tackles and 17 pass breakups.
Coming out of high school in the Class of 2020, Dunbar was listed as a two-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 2785th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 248th-ranked player at his position and the 21st-ranked player in the state of New York.
With his commitment, Dunbar became the Wildcats’ fifth addition through the spring transfer portal window, joining Colorado’s Dylan Edwards, UConn’s Ta’Quan Roberson, New Mexico’s Alec Marenco, and Wagner’s Justin Wolf.
Dunbar and the rest of the 2024 transfer portal additions will take the field for the first time as Wildcats on Saturday, August 31st, against the UT Martin Skyhawks.
