At one point in time, Gordon Hayward was one of the best players in the NBA, as he was the face of the Utah Jazz and was considered to be a player who had a bright future in the league as a potential superstar in the making.

Unfortunately, after Hayward left the Jazz for the Boston Celtics in NBA free agency in 2017, after his first and only All-Star selection, he suffered a severe injury right out of the gate during the 2017-18 campaign.

Hayward played one game with the Celtics that season and then limped through the next two years in Boston before heading to the Charlotte Hornets, where he had a few productive years but was never the same player.

The Butler product became another sad NBA story in terms of a player with so much potential that was never realized because injuries got the best of him year after year.

Now Hayward is playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder and has been stuck in a reserve role where he rarely sees the floor, especially after only playing in 26 games during the regular season.

Ironically enough, Hayward now has his own signature shoe at the tail end of his playing career with Anta, which just debuted via The Daniel Bell.

During his prime in the NBA, Hayward having a signature shoe made a lot of sense, as he was one of the league’s best players with a bright future ahead of him.

Now, it seems odd that he’d get his own shoe when most NBA fans likely don’t even know he’s still playing and who he’s playing for at this point in his career.
