Confirming our report from April, the Jacksonville Jaguars unveiled their new “Shell White” alternate helmets early Thursday morning.

The matte white helmets, which feature a black facemask and the Jaguars’ primary logo on both sides, mark the fourth different shell color in franchise history.

They used a black base from 1995-2008, as well as from 2018 through the present, a black helmet with teal flakes from 2009-12 and a black-to-gold gradient design from 2013-17.

The white helmets will be paired with Jacksonville’s black alternate jerseys and white pants comply with league rules that state they must be worn with an alternate, throwback or Color Rush uniform.

Jacksonville will debut the new white helmets during its Nov. 10 home against the Minnesota Vikings at EverBank Stadium, which kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.

This is the second uniform-related announcement for the Jaguars in a little over a week, as they also unveiled their 1990s throwback uniforms last Thursday.

The throwback uniforms will be worn against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 6, which means Jacksonville could wear them or the new white helmets in one additional game this season.

The Jaguars now join the Baltimore Ravens (purple) and Minnesota Vikings (white) in introducing a second shell this offseason. Sources have indicated the Green Bay Packers (white) will, as well.

The Denver Broncos and New York Jets unveiled throwback uniforms with royal blue and white helmets, respectively, as they were able to take advantage of the NFL’s new third helmet rule one year early with their redesigns.

The Houston Texans also have a new third shell, unveiling a blue helmet with red flakes for their “H-Town” alternate uniforms, which feature light blue accents.

The New York Giants, meanwhile, will simply swap the decals on their standard blue helmets to complete their “Century Red” throwback design.
