With more than 1.75 million subscribers, the Legends Tour YouTube channel stands out among all the professional Tours, both men’s and women’s (for completeness of information, on the second step of the podium we find the PGA Tour with 1.44 million subscribers and in third place the DP World Tour with 471,000 registered users, Editor’s note).
Last week the European Tour of the Pros over 50 played its flagship event, the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship hosted by Colin Montgomerie (won by the British Robert Coles) on the Trump International Golf Links course.
Legends, results
During the week of the tournament, the videos uploaded to the YouTube channel generated 1.9 million views, of which 888,000 for the highlights of the last round, which received over 17,000 “likes”. Ryan Howsam CEO of the Legends Tour (as well as Staysure, Editor’s note) is extremely satisfied with the result.
“It’s great to have achieved the milestone of being the leading Tour on YouTube” “The Legends Tour is truly global, with a roster that includes some of the best players of the last 40 years” “We will now be visiting Vietnam, India, Zambia, around Europe, as well as the UK and the US (in addition to the traditional Tour Championship in Mauritius, Ed.)” “When I took over the Legends Tour, my vision was to address the over-50s market, as it was clear to me that it was not adequately developed, with the golf legends that were competing there not being at the centre of their rightful place” “If you look at the field at our flagship tournament last week, you will find four Ryder Cup Captains, six Major winners, numerous other Ryder players and tournament winners”.
65% of YouTube subscribers are male, and by contrast, we have 35% of women. The division by age group is interesting, with 42% aged 55 or over, while 48% fall into the 25-54 age group. These are all the results about the channel, the best among all the professional Tours of golf.
