Marcus Stroman Breaks Silence On Losing His Cool After Yankees Teammates Make a Costly Error In Braves Win

Marcos Stroman has never shied away from showing his raw emotions. A character on the field, Friday night was no different for him, considering he lost his temper on Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres. In the mid-game ruckus, Stroman was spotted screaming at Torres for not converting a simple double play in the fifth innings against Blue Jay’s ace batter. 

However, Friday’s game for the Yankees ended their losing streak drought against the Jays. The team lost four previous games against the Blue Jays. But, this time, their hitters were in form as they collectively scored 16 runs at the Rogers Center. Still, despite the win, Marcus Stroman, looking reckless, expressed his raw emotions about the Yankees team and Gleyber Torres.

Marcus Stroman was caught in an exchange with the reporters where he explained, “The squad went crazy today. Love to see it. Raw emotion and passion are part of the game. When you care deeply…frustrations come into the light. That’s on me for losing my cool. I have to be better. Truly love this team and will always compete at the highest level for my brothers. On to the next! It all happened when Torres was struggling in the fifth innings. He allowed the Blue Jays to complete their bases with no outs.

Adding to the woes, Vladimir Guerrero smashed a groundball to the shortstop, which would have resulted in a double play. Instead, the Jays ace batter Guerrero completed his run, making Stroman lose his cool. On the big screen, Marcus was seen screaming into his glove. He looked upset at Torres for not completing the double play. 

Still, even after Stroman was ejected in the fifth inning following his five hits, three earned runs, three strikeouts, and three walks, the Yankees were behind by 3-1. It was all bleak until Juan Soto and other hitters arrived, which made all the difference. Collectively, the Yankees made a six-run blast in the sixth inning. Followed by the seven-run in the ninth, the team looked comfortable. Every Yankees hitter on the crease scored, and the runs came in abundance. 

Juan Soto led the Yankees’ hitting lineup, where he smashed a three-homer against the Blue Jays starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi in the sixth inning. Additionally, Gleyber Torres scored a two-run homer, and Aaron Judge steered ahead with three hits and two runs. While the New York Yankees won handsomely by 16-5 against the Toronto Blue Jays, however, regarding the drama that happened in the match, Aaron Boone was caught sharing his side of the story.

Indeed, it was a brawl between the umpire and Marcus Stroman that made him exit the game mid-way. However, as much as Stroman has been short-tempered, he has a different personality off the field. After the match was finished, Stroman went into the dugout to greet Torres after he scored two home runs. 

Also, Manager Aaron Boone came to the rescue for Marcus Stroman. Portraying Marcus’s emotions in a positive take, he remarked, “[Torres] didn’t get a ton on the throw, but that’s just one of those things that happens,” adding, “That’s going to be a tough double play to turn. Just Stro being competitive in the moment. We’re playing for a lot. Sometimes that spills over a little bit.” Indeed, after a four-game losing streak, the team’s goal, especially Boone’s, was simple: ‘win the game.’ 

Currently, the next Yankees game is against the same opponent, the Blue Jays. Winning over them by a 16-5 margin does give an edge and confidence to the Highlanders. Also, with Juan Soto in form, Torres’s eagerness to come back stronger, and Aaron Judge’s support as captain, the Yanks are a clear favorite here. For the Blue Jays, Vladimir Guerrero is striving his best. But, if they want to get to winning ways, other team members, especially the pitchers, will now have to show their ‘A’ game before the Yankees sweep them away this series.
