Three spots in the 2025 national rankings have been vacated this week with the reclassifications of Jeremiah Fears, Alier Maluk and Bryce Heard, who are headed to Oklahoma, Florida State and NC State, respectively, as part of their 2024 recruiting class.
Those spots will be filled by Matthew Able and Tre Singleton — both of whom were featured in our look at the top stock-risers from week one of the recruiting period — and Ben Ahmed who announced he was reclassifying up from 2026 to 2025 as many had anticipated.
Able is being inserted at No. 64 overall spot in the class and bumped up to 4-star status after his huge performance at the 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill and his subsequent recruiting spike. He is scheduled to take official visits to Northwestern, Wake Forest, Boston College, Miami and Virginia Tech in the coming weeks, but is now also being courted by a variety of other high-major programs.
Able is a well-built wing with broad shoulders and a very sturdy frame that is only going to keep filling out. He has somewhat unorthodox mechanics for someone who makes 3 in bunches with just a slight hop into a noticeable twisting motion, but nevertheless, a fluid release and soft ball. While the jumper looked like the first domino in his attack, he showed the versatility to also make mid-range shots off the dribble and solid athleticism in the open floor. The other thing that was very noteworthy, was Able’s excellent left hand. He was equally comfortable putting the ball on the floor and even dunking with either hands. He also showed good perimeter footwork off the catch and was a competitive defender.
2025 stock-risers from the first week of the recruiting period:
Matthew Able averaged over 22 points per game while shooting better than 50% from three in the 3SSB championships.

Singleton is being inserted at No. 144 in the national class. The big forward went into the month of July with only a single high-major offer from Northwestern. He’s now being prioritized by the likes of Louisville, Notre Dame, Clemson, Butler and DePaul among others.
Singleton is 6-foot-8 with a naturally strong build. He’s capable of playing either the four or the five with his strong body and ability to play through contact. He has excellent footwork and very good hands which help his overall game. While he’s not a not a very explosive athlete, he showed good balance through contact and an associated ability to make tough lay-ups in traffic. He also has some mismatch skill with his ability to make spot-up shots out to the 3-point line and put the ball on the floor with both hands. Singleton is also a quality passer with good instincts and overall feel for the game that give him the potential to be someone teams can play through in the half-court. Defensively, he relies on strength and intellect to get ideal angles. He plays bigger than he is inside, but is not a prototypical rim protector. He projects as a reliable team defender though and potentially high-volume rebounder.
The recruiting period resumes tomorrow, & we’re looking back at the 2025 risers from week one.

Ahmed is a wide-bodied big man who provides a true anchor in the post. The southpaw big man takes up a lot of real estate, is hard to get around and a true back-to-the-basket scoring threat with terrific hands. He’s also a deceptively good runner who can really change ends when he commits himself to sprinting the floor. Ahmed will maintain his same overall rating of 92 and be inserted inside the top-75 in the national class of 2025.
A full ranking update is expected in the next month following the recruiting period, which ended this week with the NCAA Academy in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
