Although the 2024 NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks are going on, fans are being treated to the most viewed 2024 WNBA season ever.
The WNBA has attracted more viewers and fans this year and it’s largely in part to Caitlin Clark who was taken first overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Clark built a strong following during her collegiate career at Iowa where she led the Hawkeyes to multiple NCAA Championship appearances before declaring for the WNBA.
However, she has been the subject of many arguments and debates because of the physical play she is enduring by other WNBA veterans on the floor.
After a shaky start, though, Clark is starting to resemble the star she was at Iowa as she’s gotten more comfortable with the speed and physicality of the professional game.
There’s been some talk about how Clark might fare in the NBA and Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. offered his thoughts via Legion Hoops.
“OK, if she was in an NBA game on defense she would get cooked but offensively like she’ll knock down some corner threes or like a swing-swing threes because she could shoot from that far,” Porter said.

As Porter notes, Clark’s size would likely make her an easy target defensively for teams though her shooting ability would absolutely translate immediately.
Although Porter goes on to note that it would be hard for Clark and other female players to be productive at the NBA level, it speaks to how good of a player the latter is.
