Michigan football will enter the 2024-2025 season with new faces in new places on the coaching staff, including incoming defensive coordinator Wink Martindale.
The self-described ‘OG’ of the defensive scheme the Wolverines rode to three straight Big Ten championships and a national championship, Martindale is still being doubted ahead of his first season in Ann Arbor.
The 61-year-old recently shared insider information he received from the now-Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter before taking over his post with the Wolverines.
“(He) told me when I was coming up here, ‘Hey, at Michigan, every day is Tuesday,” Martindale said. “At first I was like, what are you talking about?
“He said, It’s football 24/7. If you’re a football freak, you love it.”
