Recent reports have said the Los Angeles Lakers are zeroing in on JJ Redick for the position of head coach.
Hiring Redick would be a major move for the Lakers, but would it be the right one?
Redick’s friend and co-worker Mike Breen was asked about Redick taking the job on the “Dan Le Batard Show” and gave him a positive endorsement.
“You never know til a guy’s in the position, but I think he has all the characteristics to be a great head coach,” Breen said, via Legion Hoops.

The idea of Redick coaching the Lakers has created a lot of buzz but also a lot of questions.
For the last few weeks, Lakers fans have been wondering if Redick has what it takes to bring the team to a new level of success.
He is clearly a very gifted player and has a great basketball IQ, but that might not be enough.
He has never been a head coach, or an assistant coach, and this would be his first job in this sort of capacity.
Many people agree that a new head coach usually requires a few years before they are truly working at their full potential, but the Lakers do not have that sort of time.
They want to win as soon as possible because their window with LeBron James is closing.
At the same time, the front office also yearns for a leader who will be coaching the team for many years.
They believe that this next coaching choice could affect the team for perhaps multiple decades and they want to do the right thing.
Breen believes in Redick as do many others but the coaching candidate has a lot to prove.
