My dream is the Ryder Cup

Andalusian golfer Ángel Hidalgo considers his provisional classification “within the European team” for the Ryder Cup “something circumstantial” because “there is still too much way to go” to form the squad that will compete in eleven months in New York, but he did not deny that it is his “great dream”.

Hidalgo, statements

“There is still a long way to go before I really think seriously about being on the Ryder team. I have to keep playing very well and if, with a few weeks to go, I have a chance of making the team, all the better.

It is the great dream of all golfers,” said Hidalgo in statements to EFE. The player from Marbella missed the cut last Friday at the Alfred Dunhill Links in Scotland after winning the Spanish Open the week before last, which “obviously” gave him “enormous pride” because it is “one of the greatest prizes a golfer can have, winning his national ‘Open'” Ángel Hidalgo’s good ranking on the European circuit could provide him with a card for the American PGA Tour at the end of the year, a “nice goal that is closer than ever” and that “has been presented since the victory in Madrid,” so he is going to “fight with everything” to achieve it, since he “would love to be able to play on the other side of the pond.” The Rules of Golf are a set of rules and standard procedures by which the sport of golf should be played.

They are jointly written and administered by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body of golf throughout the world, except in the United States and Mexico, which are governed by the United States Golf Association.

An expert committee, made up of members of the R&A and the USGA, oversees and refines the Rules every four years. The latest revision was effective January 1, 2016. Changes to the Rules of Golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding of the Rules and those that reduce penalties in certain cases to ensure balance.

The rulebook, entitled “The Rules of Golf,” is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy, the Federgolf is responsible for supervising competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and managing the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
