While the confetti was still falling on the Philadelphia Eagles following their 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, NBC was already looking forward to next season when it revealed the logo for Super Bowl LX late Sunday night.
Set to take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Feb. 8, 2026, Super Bowl LX will be just the third Super Bowl held in the San Francisco Bay Area, joining Super Bowl XIX in 1985 (Stanford Stadium) and Super Bowl 50 (Levi’s Stadium).
The logo for Super Bowl LX follows the same template as the last four designs, with the Vince Lombardi Trophy prominently displayed among large Roman numerals that include some local flavor and a bright color scheme.
Whereas those logos had palm trees (LVI), a desert landscape (LVII), buildings along the Las Vegas Strip (LVIII) or a design inspired by the wrought-iron balconies in the French Quarter (LIX), next year’s features the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline and redwood trees.
There’s also a plethora of colors, including shades of blue, green, yellow, pink, red and purple, which will only further the theory that the logo predicts the participants – though, as we pointed out, this could predict a number of combinations, such as the Baltimore Ravens vs the Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills vs Seattle Seahawks or Los Angeles Chargers vs the Minnesota Vikings.
Interestingly, San Francisco was also supposed to host Super Bowl XXXIII in 1999, but it was moved to Pro Player Stadium (now Hard Rock Stadium) in Miami after plans to renovate Candlestick Park fell through.
Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003 was also awarded to a new 68,000-seat stadium the 49ers planned to build in San Francisco, but after construction failed to move forward, the game was relocated to Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
