NFL Picks Against the Spread for the Week 2 & Expert Analysis

How’s your NFL Picks? A lot of sports betting experts, including this one, were worried that the Kansas City Chiefs would suffer on offense with the expected suspension of wide receiver Rashee Rice.

In the off-season, the team added Hollywood Brown via free agency and drafted Xavier Worthy in the first round.

Rice hasn’t been suspended yet, but Worthy still made a huge difference. He had a touchdown on an end-around run on his first touch, and he caught a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.

On the night, Kansas City had three pass plays that went at least 30 yards and three more that went 20–30 yards.

Just having Worthy out there opened up space for others in the passing game. Going into Week 2, don’t miss our top NFL picks against the spread.

NFL Picks 2024/25 Season: Top Week 2 Against the Spread

Las Vegas Raiders (+9.5) at Baltimore Ravens (O/U 41.5)

When: Sunday, September 15, 1:00 pm ET, CBS

West Coast teams playing in the early time slot in the Eastern Time Zone often have a hard time getting things started, and the Raiders have more problems than most West Coast teams.

The Chargers were able to run all over Vegas in Week 1, and they don’t have nearly the running attack that Baltimore does with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry.

The Ravens played last Thursday, giving them more time to prepare for the Raiders.

Las Vegas has Gardner Minshew at quarterback, a streaky proposition at best, and the Raiders’ running game is a bit soft.

NFL Pick: Ravens to win and cover.

Indianapolis Colts (-3) at Green Bay Packers (O/U 40.5)

When: Sunday, September 15, 1:00 pm ET

Anthony Richardson showed us why the Colts drafted him, with a 60+ yard bomb that he threw without the benefit of setting his feet.

That cannon of an arm changes games in the blink of an eye. Unfortunately, the Colts’ defense, despite its ironclad reputation, could not get enough stops against Houston.

This time around, they face a Packer offense led by Malik Willis after Jordan Love’s knee injury down in Brazil.

Jonathan Taylor and Richardson will do to the Packers what Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts pulled off in Week 1.

NFL Pick: Colts to win and cover.

L.A. Rams (+1.5) at Arizona Cardinals (O/U 49.5)

When: Sunday, September 15, 4:05 pm ET, FOX

Kyler Murray looked solid, at least in the early going, as the Cardinals built a two-touchdown lead on the Bills in Buffalo.

The hosts figured things out, but the Cardinals still almost won anyway. The key is to get Marvin Harrison Jr cooking in the offense.

Murray’s receivers will run routes in the intermediate range to confuse the L.A. secondary, and the Rams won’t have second-year star wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee).

With this game taking place down in the desert, I see the Cardinals riding that momentum that almost carried them to victory in Buffalo.

NFL Pick: Cardinals to cover and win outright.

Cincinnati Bengals (+6) at Kansas City Chiefs (O/U 47.5)

When: Sunday, September 15, 4:25 pm ET, CBS

As great as Joe Burrow is, we now know that he’s a slow starter.

Each season he’s been in the NFL, the first few games have been messy before he has figured things out and led his team either to the Super Bowl or AFC Championship (unless he’s suffered a season-ending injury along the way).

Going into Week 1, both Tee Higgins (trade request) and Ja’Marr Chase (holdout) were major distractions.

Burrow has a 3-1 lifetime record against the Chiefs, but seeing them this early in the season, before Higgins has had a chance to play a regular-season game with Burrow, gives the Chiefs the edge.

But can KC win by a touchdown? After they beat Baltimore fairly easily, I say yes.

NFL Pick: Chiefs to win and cover.
