What a season!
We have seen a number of statistical achievements over the 2024 season, but not all of them involve pure goal-scoring. indeed, the highest number of goals we’ve seen thus far, 61 by Delmar senior Jordyn Hollamon, is the lowest we’ve seen since 2010. Of course, the year after that started the Score-O Era of field hockey offense.
But I’d also like to proffer the fact that players are dishing off the ball with great effect to try to move the goalkeeper and defenses which have improved tremendously in the last few years. This season, junior Adelaide Minnella of North Caldwell West Essex (N.J.) had a 30-goal, 30-assist season for the second time, an exceedingly rare achievement.
What you see below is our cocktail of statistics, gathered through as Lancaster Online, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, New Jersey Advance Media, the governing bodies of Kentucky and Michigan, The Boston Herald, and, of course, the easy-to-use MaxPreps.com platform. I encourage you to get your fellow teams to enter their information there as well as whichever is your local news site, so that we can aim for as complete a statistical picture of the country as possible.
