Ohio State runs to the NCAA Final Sixteen by beating Oklahoma State 4-1


The No.1 Ohio State University destroyed Oklahoma State 4-1, reaching the Final Sixteen of the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships.

The Buckeyes will take on Mississippi next weekend in Columbus, trying to get into the top 8 of the NCAA.

In doubles, Cannon Kingsley and JJ Tracy won 6-0 on court 3. Andrew Lutschaunig and Justin Boulais won the final four games of the set to take the point with a 6-1 victory on court two. Robert Cash and JJ Tracy were up 5-2 when the game was stopped.

Rain forced a halt to the game about an hour and 30 minutes after it began, and after 40 minutes, play resumed indoors.
In singles, Cash earned his first win on court six, defeating Francisco Pini 6-3, 6-0. Tracy followed not long after with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Erik Schiessl on court four to extend the lead to 3-0.

Oklahoma State got a win on court three as Alex Garcia beat Jack Anthrop in three sets. Alexander Bernard defeated Alessio Basile 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 on court five, in the decisive match.
