Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II had a very impressive sophomore campaign, leading the country in rushing yards with 1,732 yards. As a result, PFF listed Gordon as the top returning running back in college football in 2024.
The superstar junior also finished second in the nation for rushing touchdowns (21) and yards after contact (1,056). Texas Tech RB Tahj Brooks came in at No. 5 after posting 1,541 yards and 10 touchdowns in his fourth season with the Red Raiders.
In seven games, Gordon ran for over 130 yards, including a career-high 282-yard performance in a win over West Virginia.
The 6-foot-1 halfback scored three or more touchdowns in three outings, highlighted by a five-touchdown performance in a victory against BYU.
Despite an early-season loss to South Alabama, Gordon helped the Cowboys finish with a 10-4 record, placing them No. 16 in the country at the end of the season.
Oklahoma State will begin the 2024 season by playing host to South Dakota State on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 1:00 p.m. CT.
