Our best bets for the second major of the season include three each-way shouts with six major victories combined.
The second Major of the season begins in Louisville, Kentucky, on Thursday as the US PGA Championship takes place at Valhalla Golf Club.
Valhalla has staged the PGA on three occasions – in 1996, 2000 and 2014 – with the most recent of those easily the most significant in the context of this week’s tournament as it marked the last time Rory McIlroy won a Major title.
It’s been a decade of Major disappointment for the Northern Irishman on the biggest stages but this time he returns to Valhalla in red-hot form having won the Zurich Classic pairs event and the Wells Fargo Championship in his last two starts.
McIlroy is the 7/1 second-favourite behind world no.1 Scottie Scheffler, who comes into the tournament with form figures of 1-1-2-1-1 from his last five appearances, including a win at the Masters. Scheffler is 4/1 to claim back-to-back Majors.

Defending champion to upstage Major rivals again
All eyes will be on Scheffler and McIlroy but Brooks Koepka has built a career on spoiling the party and the defending champion has every chance of retaining the title which he won for a third time at Oak Hill last season.
Five-time Major winner Koepka, now plying his trade on the LIV Tour, went into the Masters struggling for form and finished down the field at Augusta National.
However, the Floridian has sparked back into life on the breakaway circuit, finishing ninth in Adelaide before winning in Singapore, and those two efforts should have him spot-on for this crack at a fourth PGA Championship.
Valhalla, a brutal 7,609-yard par-71 layout which demands both length and accuracy off the tee, should suit Koepka, who looks a big threat to both Scheffler and McIlroy.
Long-driving DeChambeau looks well suited to Valhalla
With driving distance a significant advantage at Valhalla, Bryson DeChambeau should be a key contender after a solid performance at the Masters in his last Major appearance.
DeChambeau, who like Koepka is currently playing on the LIV Tour, finished fourth in the 2023 PGA Championship then won LIV events at the Greenbrier and Chicago, both in states which border Kentucky.
The long-driving Californian, who has also won at Muirfield Village, which is a Jack Nicklaus design like Valhalla, produced four consecutive LIV top-ten finishes before finishing sixth at the Masters.
He underwhelmed in Adelaide and Singapore but this is a much more suitable venue.
Homa has all the tools to tame Kentucky layout
Max Homa has struggled to make an impact in Majors but the Californian, who is a six-time PGA Tour champion, finished third at the Masters last month and had a genuine chance of winning the Green Jacket heading into the back nine.
Homa, who fell away as Scheffler assumed control, is increasingly confident in his ability to compete for the biggest titles and he warmed up for the PGA Championship with a top-ten finish behind McIlroy at the Wells Fargo.
The 33-year-old is long enough to cope with the demands of Valhalla but his underrated short-game is also an asset.
