Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon, the No. 1 overall prospect in college football’s 2026 recruiting class, announces his commitment Saturday at 3 p.m. ET on the 247Sports YouTube channel. The 6-foot-3 1/2, 197-pounder is set to choose from Alabama, LSU, NC State and Tennessee.
Originally, Brandon figured that he’d wait until the conclusion of his junior season to make a decision.
But the high-stakes quarterback dominoes wait for no one — and Brandon knows where he wants to play his college ball.
“I’ve been to all the schools I’m really interested in enough times to where I know where I want to go,” Brandon told 247Sports.
“I think I’m going to be pretty excited [Saturday]. Might be a little nervous, but mostly excited.”
In addition to Alabama, LSU, NC State and Tennessee, Brandon visited Florida State, Georgia, and Penn State last spring.
But within the same timeframe, the latter trio received pledges from quarterbacks in the class of 2026.
In late June, 247Sports traveled to Grimsley High School, where Brandon disclosed his top four schools and explained why each made the cut.
All four finalists jockeyed for a return visit from Brandon when the late-July recruiting dead period lifted.
