With the 2024 NFL schedule out in the public, we now know the full slate of 2024 Monday Night Football games.
As with every year, there are some outstanding matchups on the list (and a few snoozers).
We’ve gone through this year’s slate and ranked these games according to their appeal, with a few of these strictly for the fans of both teams involved and plenty of them for anybody who just loves the game.
Let’s go through and see how these games stack up against each other, ones featuring elite quarterbacks, possible Super Bowl contenders and underdogs waiting for their moment to shine.
Does anyone want to watch a quarterback duel with Daniel Jones and Russell Wilson? Anyone?
Watching the Bengals probably stomp the rebuilding Commanders doesn’t sound too fun.
The Broncos will have to be careful this excellent Browns defensive line doesn’t put Bo Nix in a blender for four quarters.
It’s not awful, but it feels like there were better Falcons and Raiders games to put in primetime than this one.
This was actually a pretty good game last year between these two teams, but it’s still hard to get incredibly hyped up for it, at least right now.
This will be a huge test for the Falcons to go on the road to face the Eagles. It’s a solid game for primetime.
We’re not sure how the Saints will be this season, but we feel like the Packers will be Super Bowl contenders by this point on the schedule. Count us in as intrigued for this one.
We’re very curious how Mike Macdonald’s Seahawks do against the rebuilt Lions in Detroit.
The first Patrick Mahomes game on this ranking pits him against the Saints. We’re curious how the New Orleans defense will do trying to contain the best quarterback in the league.
Watching Lamar Jackson in primetime is never a bad decision, and the Bucs are a solid draw.
This one could have playoff implications for both teams if the Caleb Williams Bears and the Sam Darnold Vikings can pull together winning seasons. Divisional games in December are always fun.
Another home game for Mahomes, who is always so much fun to watch in primetime. The Bucs have a very solid defense, so this one should be entertaining.
Seeing Josh Allen and the Bills take on this Jets team with Aaron Rodgers at the helm should be a good time. AFC East games are never boring these days (unless the New England Patriots are involved).
Maybe it’s us, but this one feels like a sleeper for one of the best games on the schedule. Kyler Murray and Justin Herbert getting into a primetime shootout sounds like a blast.
Getting to see two potential AFC playoff teams go at it in September in primetime is very promising. Trevor Lawrence going up against Allen in Buffalo should be a good way to spend the evening.
Sean McVay and Mike McDaniel in an offensive chess match with fireworks to spare? Count us in.
Seeing if C.J. Stroud and the Texans can win an in-state battle with the Cowboys is exactly what primetime is all about. This should be a great game.
Speaking of the Cowboys, watching them face off against Burrow and the Bengals is another excellent example of why primetime games can be marquee events.
The first Har-bowl is upon us with this fantastic matchup, as brothers Jim Harbaugh and John Harbaugh face off for the first time in years at the NFL level. Herbert and Jackson battling in a duel of elite AFC quarterbacks doesn’t hurt, either.
You know why this one is major. Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles during his Monday night Jets debut last fall, and he’ll undoubtedly want to prove he’s still an elite quarterback by taking down the 49ers during the first week of the season. San Francisco won’t make it easy, though.
This past January’s NFC championship game rematch between the Lions and 49ers is the best Monday night game on the schedule right now. We cannot wait to see these teams play again.
