Ross O’Sullivan: My 6 runners for the rest of the week

The Betway ambassador has five horses set to run at Galway this week, and another heading to Wolverhampton.

It’s good to be talking about our main chances at Galway this week – a week that is fast-paced, both on and off the track. If you’ve not done Galway before, I’d highly suggest you put it on your list. It’s a fine place with great nightlife and you’ll experience the best of Irish hospitality!

Talk In The Park

7/1

goes in the second race on Wednesday evening. His owners are from Galway, and they’ll have a couple of runners this week. Talk In The Park won well at Downpatrick last time. He’s a hardy horse who has had plenty of experience in handicaps and that should stand him in good stead over some of the less experienced horses in the race. He seems to be improving and should run a nice race.

The handicapper probably has Champella

11/1

right on her current mark. She’s consistent and always gives her best. She didn’t seem to enjoy being ridden more prominently last time, but we’ll look to cover her up a bit more this time. It’s good prize money, so the race is competitive.

We’re looking forward to running Donnie Devito

on Thursday. His won very well last time and the form is starting to be franked. The ground won’t be an issue and I’d like to think he’ll run a good race. The owner had a great day when Eagles Reign finished second in the Boodles Hurdle at Cheltenham, so it’d be grand if we could give him another good day out here!

is going over to England for the Racing League. Ideally, he wants six furlongs around a bend, and he gets that at Wolverhampton. He lacked the experience and didn’t have conditions that properly suited him last time out. A distance that suits him will hopefully see him throw in a better performance.

Volantis will run on Friday and is another for the guys who have Talk In The Park. He was second in the race last year, and this has been the plan to come back. All the races at Galway are very competitive and you need plenty of luck in running, but he’s fit and well and should hopefully give a good account of himself.

Another for the lads is Bythesametoken who is likely to run on Sunday. He’s in great shape at home. He is very experienced at the age of 10, he enjoys running at Galway and I’d love to think he’ll give the boys a good run.
