Bronny James turned a lot of heads at the NBA Combine due to his impressive shooting performance and his 40.5-inch vertical leap and has quickly become the talk of this draft class that is severely lacking in star power.

His performance left many in attendance saying the same things about him and his potential place in this league.

John Hollinger wrote an article for The Athletic and said “For most scouts, I don’t think his play or measurements moved the needle much. Mostly, it just reinforced what they already knew.”

That’s a strong endorsement that does a great job painting a bigger picture of Bronny’s status as a prospect, as many believed he was simply a nepotism prospect after averaging just 4.8 points per game at USC.

It’s possible many scouts are chalking up his one season in college as a wash due to his late start after his heart condition kept him out early in the season.

He had the second-best performance in the shooting drill at the Combine and posted a 40.5-inch vertical, which is legitimately impressive for any prospect and goes a long way toward getting rid of any of the doubters saying he is only here because of his last name.

LeBron has made it clear that he wants to play with his son, which is an interesting variable attached to Bronny’s draft stock that makes it difficult to evaluate him properly.

At this point, it feels like a lock that Bronny will get drafted, but it’s anybody’s guess where he winds up.
