The Chicago Bears are 1-0 in the Caleb Williams Era.
While the rookie quarterback and first-overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft captured the headlines in Chicago this summer, it was the Bears’ defense and special teams that led the way in the team’s 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans. Chicago cornerback Tyrique Stevenson scored the go-ahead touchdown for the Bears on a Pick-Six of Titans quarterback Will Levis — a head-scratching decision from the Tennessee passer that may or may not have been caused by his mayo-inspired cologne — as the Bears held the Titans to just 244 total yards and intercepted Levis twice.
The other big play from Chicago came on special teams, as the Bears blocked a punt, which was scooped up by Chicago defender Jonathan Jones and returned for the team’s first touchdown of the 2024 NFL season:
That play prompted the perfect response from Simone Biles, Jones’ spouse, on social media:
It has been quite the summer for the athletic duo. Biles brought home three gold medals, as well as a silver, for the United States Women’s Gymnastics Team as the living legend’s haul included gold in the Individual All-Around, as well as aiding Team USA to the gold in the Team All-Around. Owens missed part of the Bears’ training camp to cheer her on in Paris.
And now Owens scored the Bears’ first touchdown of the 2024 season, helping Chicago start the year 1-0.
