Skip Bayless Takes Jab At Lakers After Suns Fire Frank Vogel

On Thursday, the Phoenix Suns made an interesting move by deciding to part ways with veteran head coach Frank Vogel after only one season with the star-studded team led by Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal.

Despite being led by three legitimate NBA superstars, the Suns were swept in the first round of the NBA playoffs by the upstart Minnesota Timberwolves, an unexpected result that turned many heads around the league.

With Vogel unable to get the Suns on track during the regular season and getting swept by a team they should have been able to compete with in the first round, the team felt it was time to move on, which is another failed stint for the one-time NBA champion head coach.

Before joining the Suns, Vogel’s last coaching gig was with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he coached them to a championship in the NBA bubble in 2020.

Two years later, Vogel was fired before he even reached the final postgame press conference, which seemed unfair and a questionable move by the Lakers brass.

With Vogel getting fired on Thursday, Skip Bayless of FOX Sports couldn’t help but take a shot at LeBron James and the Lakers for the title won in the bubble in Orlando, Florida.

“Frank Vogel ‘led’ the Lakers to the 2020 championship. Since then he has already been fired twice. Shows you how the league viewed the Lakers Bubble title. M-i-c, k-e-y, M-o-u-s-e,” he tweeted.

Famously, Bayless uses any opportunity to take a shot at James, and even though he doesn’t mention him in this tweet, his primary motivation seems to be to undermine whatever the Lakers superstar has accomplished in his NBA career.

It seems as though Bayless will stop at nothing to continue his criticism, which will likely be ongoing if James chooses to continue his basketball career.
