Stephen A. Smith was defending Kevin Durant in a very big way on Tuesday’s “First Take.”
Smith was upset with Dennis Schroder, who recently called Durant “weak.”
Smith said Schroder wasn’t even worthy of shining Durant’s shoes and said, “How dare you say something like that about Kevin Durant?”
His passionate support of Durant has some wondering if this battle between Schroder and Durant is only heating up.

It all started when Schroder, who hails from Germany, said that European basketball is “no entertainment, it’s straight IQ basketball, straight coaching.”
That didn’t sit well with Durant.
When Team USA later claimed the gold medal at the Olympics, Durant posted a picture on social media with the caption, “ENTERTAINMENT & IQ.”
That was definitely a shot at Schroder, who clapped back by calling Durant “weak.”
And now Smith is loudly addressing Schroder and his words, saying that Durant is a decent person who doesn’t cause any problems and is the opposite of weak.
In fact, Smith wants to remind Schroder that Durant is one of the best NBA players alive.
He doesn’t deny Schroder’s skills either, but he believes that Durant is much better than him.
Additionally, Smith doesn’t think that Durant’s social media posting was that bad and definitely didn’t warrant Schroder’s words.
Now many people are wondering if this war of words will continue.
Will these two stars still be bickering when the new season kicks off in a few months?
Team USA won the gold medal and Durant proved himself again but that doesn’t mean this dispute is over.
