Takeaways after playing several games on Heisman


Anyone else a bit groggy nearly two days removed from the early launch of College Football 25? For all of you diehards out there, EA Sports’ long-awaited game has been out since Monday afternoon and packing takeaways into a neat gift box is going to take weeks of playing, but initial thoughts must suffice for now.

After hitting the sticks late-night at SEC Media Days, color me impressed with nearly every new feature. After several games on Heisman difficulty through the “Play Now” option, I don’t want to put this title down, which is bit surprising considering the elite-level expectations we all had for this one. For the most part, developers came through and paid homage to the great games of old with an attention to detail few other sports games, if any, possess.

Physical copies arrive in stores Friday and that’s when I’ll pick mine up, lock the door of my office and get in the lab over the weekend.

Here’s some initial takeaways from a few hours on College Football 25, what I like and what I don’t:
