No. 8 Texas Tech’s Kailey Wyckoff blasted her second home run in extra innings to lift the Lady Raiders past No. 9 Iowa State, 10-9, in Game 2 of the Big 12 Softball Tournament on Wednesday.
That capped off a game in which the Lady Raiders (29-20) rallied from deficits of 6-0 and 8-4 with four home runs.

Wyckoff hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning that cut Iowa State lead to 9-7. Texas Tech followed that with two home runs in the seventh inning, solo shots from Abbie Orrick and Aubrey Barnhart, the latter of which sent the contest into extra innings.
After Texas Tech led Iowa State without a run in the top half of the eighth inning, Wyckoff drilled a solo shot to left-center field to move the Lady Raiders to the next round.
Wyckoff, who batted second on Wednesday, went 2-for-4 with four RBI and three runs. Kennedy Crites went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Lady Raiders.
Before that, Iowa State (20-31) scored the first six runs of the game, which included an RBI triple by Carli Spelhaug and a bases-emptying triple by Milaysia Ochoa in the fourth. Ochoa also came up big for ISU in the sixth with a two-run home run that, at the time, gave ISU an 8-4 lead.
Iowa State pitcher Lauren Schurman carried a no-hitter into the fourth inning before giving up a two-out single, but she didn’t figure in the decision. She allowed three hits and three runs, while her relief, Jaiden Ralston, gave up seven hits and six earned runs.

Karlie Charles (L, 5-9) gave up Wyckoff’s home run in the eighth and took the loss.
Maddy Wright started for the Lady Raiders, gave up six hits and six runs in 3.2 innings before giving way to Maddie Kuehl, who gave up four hits and three runs in 1.1 innings.
Olivia Rains (W, 1-0) claimed her first win of the season, delivering three scoreless innings of relief and allowing one hit.
Texas Tech advances to Thursday’s quarterfinals, where it will face No. 1 seed Texas at 5 p.m.
