Thomas Tuchel reportedly believes he’s guaranteed to succeed Erik ten Hag and become the next Manchester United manager.
Despite masterminding a brilliant 2-1 FA Cup final win against Manchester City on Saturday, there is still a big chance that Ten Hag will be sacked.
A report covered by The Peoples Person on Friday relayed that Ten Hag will be relieved of his duties irrespective of whether or not United would beat Pep Guardiola’s men.
After the win at Wembley, United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe was asked whether Ten Hag would remain on board or the club would part ways with him.
The INEOS billionaire snubbed the question before walking away.
Some of the coaches United have been linked to as potential Ten Hag replacements include Kieran McKenna, Roberto De Zerbi, Graham Potter, Mauricio Pocehttino, Gareth Southgate and of course, Tuchel.
The Mirror now reports that Tuchel is almost certain he will be the next man to assume the hot seat at United.
“Thomas Tuchel believes he will be the next manager of Manchester United – despite the Reds’ sensational FA Cup triumph.”
“Tuchel is believed to be one of a number of names on the wish-list of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS Group should the decision be announced to end Ten Hag’s two-year reign. But according to sources in Munich, the 50-year-old reckons he is already nailed on for the job.”
“He believes United have identified him as the man to replace Ten Hag.”
Simon Mullock adds that Tuchel is of the opinion that he has “unfinished business” in the Premier League and he’s eager to prove himself in England’s top flight.
He of course previously managed Chelsea before he was sacked in controversial circumstances in September 2022 after the Blues were taken over by a consortium led by Todd Boehly. At Stamford Bridge, Tuchel led the side to Champions League glory in 2021.
