Three-Star IOL Andrew Stargel Commits to Knights

The UCF Knights picked up another commitment from the Class of 2025 with three-star interior offensive lineman Andrew Stargel on Thursday, via 247Sports.

Stargel chose Central Florida over Ohio State, NC State, and Kentucky and becomes the 13th player from the 2025 cycle to commit to play under head coach Gus Malzahn.

The Roswell, Georgia native is ranked as the 82nd-best player in his position.

He told 247Sports that “I love UCF so much they’re my favorite coaching staff by far, both coach Hand and coach Malzahn are great. I really just love everything about UCF.”

The culture that Malzahn has incorporated throughout the Knights’ program is another big reason why Stargel chose to come to Orlando, as he said “Me and my family love being down here, it’s just a real family environment, you’re really welcomed. The teammates are very welcoming, and I’m excited about this place it’s special for sure.”

The 2023 season marked the first year that the school competed in the Big 12 Conference and the squad finished 6-7, reaching its eighth-straight bowl game appearance.

Central Florida will open up the 2024 season as host to New Hampshire on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. EST.
