After the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl a few years ago, which was the first title for superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid, the team made a move that no one said coming in the NFL offseason.
The team decided not to pay the asking price that superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill was asking and chose to trade him to the Miami Dolphins in a blockbuster deal that gave the talented wideout a fresh start and a chance to prove that he wasn’t just a product of catching passes from Mahomes in Kansas City.
Fortunately for Hill, it turned out to be the right move, even though he missed out on two more Super Bowl titles with the Chiefs, as he became one of the elite wide receivers in the game while being quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s favorite target in the passing game in Miami.
Ironically enough, Hill has only gotten better and better year after year in Miami, leading many to consider him the best wide receiver in the NFL, along with Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings.
On Friday, Hill’s superstardom was elevated to another level, as he was voted by his peers as the NFL’s No. 1 player, according to the league’s Twitter account via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Last year, Hill had another ridiculously good season for the Dolphins, as he tied a career-high for passes caught in a season with 119, which he accomplished with Miami the season prior.
Along with an enormous number of passes caught in 2024, Hill set career-highs for receiving yards at 1,799 and touchdowns with 13.
