Watch: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. blasts home run over Green Monster

Fenway Park’s Green Monster was no match for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on Monday night.

The Blue Jays first baseman crushed a three-run home run over the massive left-field wall to give Toronto a 6-2 lead over the Red Sox in the top of the seventh inning.

Per Statcast, Guerrero’s home run had an exit velocity of 113.1 mph and traveled 471 feet. Sportsnet noted that’s the longest home run of Guerrero’s career and the third-longest at Fenway Park in the Statcast era (2016-present).

The blast showed why Guerrero is one of baseball’s best power hitters and could be a hot commodity at this year’s trade deadline.

Earlier this month, USA Today MLB insider Bob Nightengale reported that the Blue Jays could “be open to moving” on from him if they don’t turn their season around or are unable to agree on a long-term extension.

The Blue Jays (35-42) entered Monday last in the AL East and riding a six-game losing streak. If Guerrero’s massive home run doesn’t spark a Toronto resurgence, it should ignite his trade market.
