Welland Jackfish to faux it back to the 1900s – SportsLogos.Net News

The Welland Jackfish, an independent baseball team in the Ontario-based Intercounty Baseball League, were founded in 2019, but this season, they’ll wear alternate uniforms that imagine what the team would have looked like during the middle of the 20th century.

The team unveiled a suite of nostalgic logos designed by Ryan Foose of Fooser Sports Design earlier today. The set of marks is centered around a fish holding a baseball bat with a rose in its mouth.

The moniker Rose City is one of Welland’s nicknames, which it earned because it was well known in 1920s for its locally grown roses. The city has hosted an annual rose festival since 1961.

The Jackfish will wear the fauxback uniforms for Thursday home games. Games will include vintage organ ballpark music, old-time scoreboard graphics, and in-game entertainment that evokes the mid-20th century.
