After committing to the West Virginia Mountaineers on May 1, former Oklahoma State guard Javon Small officially signed with WVU on Monday, per the program’s X.
Small was one of the highest-rated guards in the transfer portal after averaging 15.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists during his junior season with the Cowboys.
The Big 12’s 10th leading scorer last season has one year of eligibility left.

The 6-foot-3 guard played one season at Oklahoma State after two years with East Carolina. During his sophomore campaign, Small averaged a career-high 15.8 points to go along with 4.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists prior to landing in Stillwater.
The Mountaineers have been aggressive in the transfer portal this offseason under Newly-Hired Head Coach Darian DeVries. He came to Morgantown alongside his son, Tucker DeVries, who won back-to-back Missouri Valley Player of the Year awards. Sencire Harrie (Illinois), Amani Hansberry (Illinois), Toby Okani (University of Illinois-Chicago), Eduardo Andre (Fresno State), and Joseph Yesufu (Kansas) also joined him as the newest Mountaineers.
WVU struggled last season, finishing last in the Big 12 with an overall record of 9-23. The team was ranked last in the Big 12 offensively and defensively and shot just 43% from the field ranking 13th in the conference.
